As Southland’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Ms. Starr oversees the overall strategy, design, and implementation of Southland’s human resources plans, processes, and practices. She has extensive knowledge in business and human resources management, including developing competitive total rewards structures, talent management solutions, and executive coaching to support leaders and employees through change. In collaboration with the company’s executive leadership team, Ms. Starr is responsible for supporting the execution of Southland’s strategic goals across all business lines.
Ms. Starr received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Saint Rose and a master’s degree in industrial labor relations from Cornell University. She is currently an active member of the Human Resources Policy Association.
Within the AEC industry, Big Rooms are an on-site co-location space that physically brings together designers, builders, facility operators, and more to create a collaborative environment. The Big Room is designed to bring all of Southland’s businesses together, including Southland Engineering, Southland Energy, and Envise, within an integrated workspace.
